Dr. Foster received honors in her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology (with minors in Women Studies and Race and Ethnic Relations) from University of California San Diego (UCSD), completed a MA in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University and MA and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a forensic emphasis from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Orange County, CA. I have worked in domestic violence, substance abuse, military/veteran issues, family issues, divorce, pre-divorce, pre-marital counseling, single-hood, parenting, adoption, financial issues, geriatric, sexuality, LGBTQAI, assessments, infertility (reproductive issues), trauma, corrections, severe mental illness, family education, demential, caregiver support, anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders and executive coaching.
I have been passionate about supporting individuals, couples and families in easing their life struggles for what feels like my whole life. I work collaboratively with my patients to achieve their goals at a pace that pushes them yet takes into consideration their life circumstances. I believe every person has unique strengths and goals for themselves that can be discovered and brought out with some insight, exposure and curiosity. I care about peoples' well-being and believe I was called to help others in need using a variety of techniques, mostly using evidence based treatments (supported by research and effectiveness and individual's unique goals and circumstances).
Let's go on a journey together to dig you out of a hole, climb up that mountain or just sit still. I am here to be by your side through the ugly truths, the celebrations and the curve balls life throws our way.
